EN | Based in an original painting by Nini Andrade Silva, the “Manufactura de Tapeçarias de Portalegre” (Manufacture of Tapestries of Portalegre – MTP) conceived a piece of unique characteristics and unparalleled beauty. With the goal of promoting the tradition and mastery of the MTP, and within the context of the ofcial programming of the Portugal Year in Brazil (with the seal of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs), this piece integrated the exhibition “A Arte da Tapeçaria – Tradição e Modernidade” (The Art of Tapestry – Tradition and Modernity), that was open between December 2012 and March 2013 in the SESI Gallery, Ruth Cardoso Cultural Center, in São Paulo. Besides the work of Nini Andrade Silva, the exhibition gathered pieces that represented several world renowned artists like Le Corbusier, Álvaro Siza Vieria, Almada Negreiros, Vieira da Silva, Júlio Pomar, Júlio Resende, Menez, Nadir Afonso, Fernando Lemos, Cruzeiro Seixas, Burle Marx, Lourdes Castro, Eduardo Nery, Graça Morais, Rigo 23, Joana Vasconcelos, among others.
